Westminster Abbey and Remembrance Sunday

Last weekend two of our children joined a group from our three parishes to visit Westminster Abbey. They were given a tour from Lou, who works in the Education Department at the Abbey and goes to Holy Innocents, and saw the Lady Chapel with its Tudor architecture and knights’ seats; the tomb of S Edward the Confessor; and the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior, amongst other things.

The children also placed a cross in the Field of Remembrance outside the Abbey in memory of Lt James Whitehead of the Middlesex Regiment, one-time chorister at Holy Innocents who died in WWII and is commemorated in a window at the church.
