giving children sacred space
Sunday morning worship needs to be something that children can relate to if they're going to feel part of our worshipping community and enjoy it.
We provide a special Childrens Club so that you get time to be still and participate in mass. The children then join us for sharing the Peace and to receive a blessing at communion. At the end of the service, children usually share with all of us, what they've been doing.
A typical Sunday for children
Children arrive and spend as much time as they want with their family. (In the early days, some youngsters will want to stay with their family but gradually they see others going off and curiosity wins.)
In the playroom, we have safe tables and chairs, lots of material for
the children to create things, and great supervision from our volunteers.
All of them have had training in running sunday sessions for children and are CRB checked.
Also, our priest has had many years experience of working in schools and colleges. Father Patrick is on the governing board of Saint Aidan's school and the Greig Academy. One of our church warden's acts as childrens advocate which involves overseeing diocesan rules and guidelines for children.
