Late Autumn house groups

'From Mary's glance to God's gaze' is a series of evening sessions exploring the use of icons for contemplation and prayer. We are using the Archbishop of Canterbury's book, 'Ponder these Things' as background.
Icons have been in use since earliest times - from the 1st century Roman catacombs through to the rich imagery and craft of the Byzantine and Orthodox churches..

A presentation (session 1) is available here.

Fr Philip's first mass
Tuesday 24 June
Fr Philip's first mass took place here, at Holy Trinity on the Feast of the Birth of John the Baptist.

The first mass of a priest is something that remains with him for life and the evening was certainly one to remember. Here is a picture album which we hope brings back many memories for all those who attended.

Fr Philip's Ordination to the priesthood
Sunday 22 June. 6.00pm
Fr Philip, was ordained to the priesthood by the Bishop of Edmonton, the Rt. Revd. Peter Wheatley. It took place at Holy Innocents on the Sunday evening before his first mass. Again, it was a very special event in the lives of our churches and you can find a photo album here with many images.

festival week - summer 2007
This eventful week, shows off some of the fine talent and gifts we have in Hornsey:
Wednesday evening was a great success with the Steel Pans orchestra from Hornsey Girls School playing at Holy Innocents.
On Thursday evening we went on a wine pilgrimage tour from Spain, tasting the finest wines you would encounter on the road to Compenstella. It was a great success that didn't depend on any walking, for a change.
The Saturday Fair outside the church has become an annual feature for the local community. Apart from the obligatory bouncy castle, there were various stalls.
Saturday evening saw the inaugural concert for the newly formed local orchestra. We have a great number of professional musicians in the area, always willing to come together to share their gifts.
