These pages cover a wide range of recent news and past events
going back a few years.

They include special studies we've done as a group, celebrations, away-days, social events and ... well ... the sort of things you'd expect any family to keep a record about.

If you want to know what Holy Trinity people are like - how they pray together and play together - then these pages will give you a good idea.

You're very welcome to join us if you see a special event on the weekly bulletin.

Parish holiday - Cornwall (2009)
cornwall 2008
It's good for a family to get away together once a year. For 2008 we decided on Cornwall with visits to the Eden project and other surrounding beauty spots.

'From Mary's glance to God's gaze' (Autumn 2008)

ponder these things

In series of evening sessions, we explored the use of icons for contemplation and prayer.

The Archbishop of Canterbury's book, 'Ponder these Things' was used as background reading, and the groups had the opportunity to look at the way icons have developed over the centuries and how we can make use of them, today.

Icons have been in use since earliest times - from the 1st century Roman catacombs through to the rich imagery and craft of the Byzantine and Orthodox churches.

Pilgrimage to Compestella (2009

our lady of sorrows
The purpose of a pilgrimage is to journey together and grow in faith. The destination of Compestella has been a journey that has been part of the Christian tradition for hundreds of years. Holy Trinity and Holy Innocents travelled together to discover something about themselves and the faith we hold so firmly as essential in our lives.

Fr Philip's first mass (June 2008)

Fr Philip first mass
Fr Philip's first mass took place here, at Holy Trinity on the Feast of the Birth of John the Baptist.

The first mass of a newly ordained priest is something that remains with him for life and the evening was certainly one to remember.

Here is a picture album

which we hope brings back many memories for all those who attended.

What would you make of a man like Paul? (Lent 2008)

paul the apostle

Our Lent study groups explored some of the letters of Paul - apostle to the Gentiles.

Tradition describes him as, "small of stature, with a bald head and crooked legs, with eyebrows meeting and nose somewhat hooked"? And over the centuries no other New Testament character has been such a source of inspiration, argument, confusion and misunderstanding.

Only as recently as 1963 have scholars had to radically rethink their understanding of Paul. Krister Stendahl claimed that tradition had got Paul very wrong and so started one of the biggest reassessments of his letters in the history of the Church. The 'new perspective' on Paul leads to some conclusions that are truly inspiring and challenging.

Norfolk scrapbook (2007)

cromer seafront in sun
For 2007 we decided on a well-earned rest exploring Norfolk and began wondering whether we'd made a wrong decision, The week before, heavy rain was making late Summer look like soggy Autumn.

Then out came the sun.

And Norfolk is about as good as it gets in that sort of weather and for a week away from the traffic and noise of North London. Here are some memories from Holy Innocents who share a lot of events with us..
