Lent is a time to reorient ourselves, clarify our minds, slow down, recover from distraction and focus on the values of God’s kingdom. It starts this year on Ash Wednesday 14th February with a Sung Mass with the giving of ashes at Holy Trinity at 8 pm.
On Tuesdays in Lent after 7.30 pm Mass, and starting on 20th February, we will hold a series looking into different ways of praying, by exploring the narrative of Jesus’ Resurrection appearances in John’s Gospel.
We will also be showing episodes of the very successful and popular dramatization of the life of Jesus called The Chosen after Mass each Sunday in Lent.
On Fridays on Lent at 7.30 pm (starting on 23rd February) we hope to hold our usual ecumenical Stations of the Cross devotions, here, at St. Per in Chains and at Holy Innocents. More details next week.

Following each poem with a helpful prose reflection, Guite has selected from classical and contemporary poets, from Dante, John Donne and George Herbert to Seamus Heaney, Rowan Williams and Gillian Clarke, and his own acclaimed poetry.
