Lent 2017

LENT GROUPS – Tuesdays at 8.15 pm

Starting on Tuesday 7th March and running for four weeks, our Lent group this year looks at some important themes from St. Matthew’s Gospel. The groups will each last about an hour and feature a prayerful reading of a particular passage as well as the opportunity for questions and discussion.

 

PARISH QUIET DAY – Saturday 11th March 10.00 am to 3.00 pm

With a focus on prayer, the Quiet Day starts with coffee from 10.00 am and features three addresses and a guided mediation, as well as the opportunity for some person quiet reflection and a celebration of the Eucharist. Please bring your own lunch – tea and coffee provided.

 

ECUMENICAL STATIONS OF THE CROSS – 7. 30 pm Fridays in Lent from 10th March

We join with our local churches for the traditional devotion with traces Jesus’ journey from Pilate’s palace to the cross each Friday at 7.30 pm. The dates and venues are as follows:

10th March     St. Peter n Chains RC Church

17th March     Hornsey Parish Church of St. Mary wth St. George

24th March    Holy Trinity, Stroud Green

31st March     Holy Innocents, Hornsey

7th April         St. Paul’s, Harringay

 

 

 

New Study Course

We say the Creed every Sunday, but how often do we stop and think carefully and prayerfully about what the words we say mean? There will be a chance to explore some of our core Christian beliefs about God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit on six Tuesdays at 8.15 pm starting on 17th January. Why not put the dates in your diary now? All welcome.

Sunday 27th November at 6.00 pm

Advent Service with music and readings followed by mulled wine and mince pies.

 

Thursday 8th December at 7.30 pm

Christingle Service with Crouch End Brownies and Guides.

 

Wednesday 21st December at 7.00 pm

Carols on the Green. Informal community carol singing on the green at the junction of Stapleton Hall and Granville Roads, followed by mulled wine and mince pies.

 

Saturday 24th December – Christmas Eve at 4.00 pm

Children’s Nativity Service

 

Saturday 24th December – Christmas Eve at 8.00 pm

First Mass of Christmas

 

Sunday 25th December  – Christmas Day at 11.30 am

Sung Mass with Carols

 

 

All Hallows Children’s Party

On Sunday 30th November from 3.30-5.30pm there will be a Children’s Party for All Hallows at St Paul’s Harringay (1 Wightman Road N4 1RW- near Harringay Station).

 

There will be various activities, including pumpkin and biscuit decorating, a scavenger hunt and the chance to dress up as saints in a photo booth.

Pizza and other snacks will be served, and the afternoon will finish off with a short service in the Church.

 

All children aged 5-11 are welcome!

Sung Mass for St Luke

This Tuesday 18th October there will be a special Sung Mass for the Feast of St Luke at 7.30pm, followed by drinks and nibbles. All are welcome to attend!

Please note: Evening Prayer will be at the earlier time of 6.30pm, to allow for a short Choir Practice at 7pm
